Effective date: 25 October 2026 | Version 2.0

1. Who We Are and Scope

Lost-it (“Platform,” “we,” “us”) helps people report, search for, and communicate about lost or found property worldwide. It is owned and operated by Standard Vision for Business Solutions, a company registered in Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (“Operator”). The Operator acts as the controller of personal data processed for the purposes described here, except where otherwise stated. This Policy applies to Platform visitors, account holders, persons mentioned in reports, and anyone who contacts us. Contact: claims@lost-it.global.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect: (a) account details, including name, email, login credentials or authentication identifiers and, if used, information supplied by a third-party sign-in provider; (b) lost-and-found reports, including descriptions, images, categories, dates, approximate locations, status and optional reward information; (c) phone numbers, user messages, ownership-claim details, support communications and safety reports; (d) device, IP, browser, cookie, diagnostic and security-log data; and (e) records of preferences, consent and privacy requests. Some data may concern another person if submitted in a report by a user. Please provide only information necessary for a legitimate lost-and-found purpose.

3. Why We Process Data and Legal Bases

We use personal data to create and administer accounts; display and match lost-and-found reports; enable messages and telephone contact; assess claims and moderate content; prevent fraud, secure the Platform, maintain backups and troubleshoot problems; send essential account and service notices; respond to support, legal and privacy requests; and improve performance. Where applicable, processing relies on performance of our agreement with users, compliance with legal duties, legitimate interests (such as security and service improvement, balanced against individual rights), or consent where required. Optional analytics, advertising or marketing will require any notice, choice or consent mandated by applicable law. We do not use personal data for an unrelated purpose without a lawful basis.

4. Listings, Contacts and Sensitive Information

Depending on Platform features and access controls, item descriptions, photos, approximate locations, display names, report status and optional rewards may be visible to visitors or members. Contact details such as phone numbers may be visible to other members through contact features; messages are exchanged between users. Authorized Operator personnel may access non-public data when reasonably necessary for support, moderation, security, legal compliance or investigations. Ownership-proof information should be shared only as needed and is not intended for public listings. Never post full passport or ID numbers, bank-card details, passwords, verification codes, unredacted official documents, precise home addresses or sensitive health information. We may restrict or remove unsafe disclosures. A recipient may separately copy information that has been shared with them; we cannot guarantee control over such onward use.

5. Sharing and Third Parties

We disclose data, as necessary, to: (a) other users or the public through features described above; (b) contracted service providers supporting hosting, storage, email, sign-in, security or other technical operations, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection arrangements; (c) third-party sign-in providers selected by users, which may apply their own privacy notices; (d) competent authorities, courts and professional advisers where legally justified; and (e) parties to a genuine merger or business transfer, subject to applicable safeguards. We do not sell personal information as a standalone product. If advertising or tracking activities constitute a regulated “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising in a relevant jurisdiction, we will provide required disclosures and choices.

6. International Data Transfers

Our hosting infrastructure is outside Jordan, and data may be stored, accessed or otherwise processed in other countries where authorized providers operate. Data-protection standards differ between countries. We assess applicable cross-border transfer requirements and use legally required transfer mechanisms and safeguards. Contact claims@lost-it.global for information about applicable safeguards.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Essential cookies or comparable technologies may support login, sessions, security and core functions. Analytics, personalization or advertising technologies, if deployed, are subject to applicable notice and consent or opt-out requirements. Users may manage browser settings and any available Platform preference tools. Where required, we will provide a separate cookie notice describing actual technologies, providers, purposes and retention. Browser settings alone may not replace legally required consent mechanisms.

8. Retention, Account Deletion and Backups

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes and legally justified needs, considering account activity, listing status, disputes, fraud prevention, security and statutory duties. Users may delete their accounts directly using the Platform's account-deletion function, without prior administrative approval. Deletion starts the removal or de-identification process for associated personal data, except information lawfully retained for legitimate obligations or claims. Backup data may remain for a limited rotation period and is subject to restricted access and secure handling. Account deletion cannot reverse information already copied by another user. Specific operational retention periods must be confirmed and implemented by the Operator.

9. Security and Incidents

We use HTTPS protocol for data transmitted between users' browsers and the Platform, retain backups for recovery, and restrict non-public personal-data access to authorized Operator personnel and relevant service providers. We apply proportionate technical and organizational safeguards, review suspected security incidents, and provide notifications where applicable law requires. No system can guarantee complete security.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law and your circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, data portability or withdrawal of consent, and complain to the competent supervisory authority. You can directly delete your Platform account; for other requests or questions about retained data, email claims@lost-it.global. We may verify identity before acting on a request and may decline or limit it where legally permitted, explaining our position as required. Withdrawal of consent does not invalidate earlier lawful processing.

11. Children and Third-Party Information

Lost-it is not designed for children under 18 years old acting without any legally required parental or guardian authorization. Eligibility restrictions must be applied in accordance with the Platform's Terms of Use and applicable law. Do not publicly upload a child's identification documents, precise location or other sensitive details. If you believe prohibited information about a child or another person appears on the Platform, contact us so we can review it.

12. Automated Features and External Links

Search, filters, sorting, recommendations and moderation may use technical or automated signals. A suggested match does not establish legal ownership. Where applicable law gives rights concerning solely automated decisions with significant effects, those rights will be respected. Linked third-party websites and external sign-in services have independent privacy practices; review their notices before using them.

13. Updates, Regional Rights and Contact

We may update this Policy and post the current version at https://lost-it.global with its effective date; material changes will receive additional notice or consent where required. The laws of Jordan and, where applicable, other jurisdictions (including EU/UK and other regional privacy laws) may confer additional mandatory protections. This Policy does not waive those protections. Privacy questions, requests and complaints: Standard Vision for Business Solutions, Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; claims@lost-it.global. You may also approach a competent supervisory authority where entitled by law.
