Common questions

LOST-IT / How it works
What is Lost-it?

Lost-it is a global online platform where people can report items they have lost or found, search listings, and connect to help return belongings to their rightful owners.

Is Lost-it available worldwide?

Lost-it is designed for users in different countries. However, users must follow the laws applicable where an item is lost, found, held, or returned.

How do I report a lost item?

Sign in to your account, choose the option to report a lost item, and add an accurate description, relevant photos, and the approximate place and date of loss. Avoid publishing sensitive personal details.

How do I report an item I found?

Sign in, choose the option to report a found item, and describe it using enough detail to help its owner recognize it. Keep unique identifying details private so that a claimant can establish ownership.

How can I look for my lost property?

Search and browse listings using the available categories, keywords, and location filters. Check new listings periodically, as an item may be reported after it was lost.

How can I contact another user?

Lost-it offers internal messaging, comments and telephone contact options where available. Share personal information cautiously and keep any arrangements focused on returning the item safely.

How do I prove an item belongs to me?

Provide relevant information that a genuine owner would reasonably know, such as non-public features, purchase evidence, or other appropriate proof. Do not post full ID numbers, passwords, or banking details publicly.

Does Lost-it verify ownership or guarantee recovery?

No. Lost-it helps users connect but does not independently certify ownership, take custody of items, or guarantee that a lost item will be found or returned.

Is using Lost-it free?

Core lost-and-found features are currently offered free of charge. If optional paid features are introduced, their prices and applicable terms will be shown before purchase.

Can I offer or receive a reward?

Users may offer an optional reward, subject to applicable law. Any reward arrangement is made directly between the users; Lost-it does not collect, hold, process, or guarantee reward payments.

What is the safest way to return an item?

Choose a safe public location where appropriate, avoid advance payments, and verify ownership before handing over the item. If the item is dangerous, suspicious, or legally regulated, contact the appropriate local authority.

What should I do if I find a passport, ID, or bank card?

Do not post a clear image, complete document number, card details, or other sensitive information. Follow the local rules for handling the document, which may require handing it to the police, issuing authority, or another designated institution.

Are listings reviewed before publication?

Listings may be reviewed and may be rejected, limited, or removed if they raise safety, privacy, legal, or platform-rule concerns. Review does not mean that Lost-it has confirmed an item or a user is genuine.

How do I report a suspicious listing or user?

Do not send money or sensitive documents. Use any reporting option available on the Platform or contact claims@lost-it.global with the relevant listing details. Contact local authorities if there is an immediate threat or suspected crime.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can delete your account directly through the Platform. Certain records may remain for a limited period in backups or where retention is legally required or permitted, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Who operates Lost-it, and how can I get help?

Lost-it is owned and operated by Standard Vision for Business Solutions, a company registered in Amman, Jordan. For support, privacy requests, or complaints, email claims@lost-it.global. Website: https://lost-it.global.
